Meet Our Founders
Dr. Fallon and Dr. Laura (PhDs, Sleep Practitioners) founded Children’s Sleep Australia in 2024 with a clear mission: to offer a trusted, balanced approach to child & teen sleep. They recognised that exhausted families desperately needed sensible, evidence-based guidance that was missing from the existing landscape of children’s sleep, or locked behind years-long waitlists.
Understanding that sleep is both an emotional and complex issue for families, they created a supportive space. Here, parents are empowered to help guide their children, supporting healthy sleep but also mental health.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What types of difficulties can we resolve?
We’ve helped families who have: • Children who were afraid or unable to sleep away from home and were missing out on school camps & sleepovers.• Children who've never slept confidently in their own bed, all night.• Teens who are difficult to get out of bed on time in the morning and who struggle to fall asleep early enough in the evening.• Children and teens who struggle with daytime fatigue that impacts their schoolwork, friendships, and mental health.
• Children who report feeling anxious at bedtime and during the night, who struggle to ‘switch off’.• Autistic children who have specific sensory requirements and/or patterns of behaviours/routines required to successfully wind down for sleep.• Gifted children who have a racing, busy mind, who struggle to wind down.• Children with sensory profiles that require tailored and bespoke solutions to support optimal sleep.
3. Can you help with physiological sleep difficulties & sleep studies?
No, we cannot help with physiological sleep difficulties including sleep apnoea or sleep studies. If you suspect there is a physiological or medical cause for your child’s disrupted sleep, please see your GP for a referral to a Sleep & Respiratory Physician. If behavioral sleep difficulties occur alongside physiological sleep difficulties (including difficulty falling or staying asleep), we can help as part of your border sleep care team.
2. Do you provide medicare or private health rebates?
No, at this stage we are unable to provide any rebates. Behavioural sleep medicine is not yet a recognised form of allied health. If you require rebates on appointments we recommend joining the waitlist of your local hospital sleep clinic, or searching for a psychologist with specific expertise in sleep.

We're committed to neuro-affirming care, celebrating the strengths of all neurodivergent individuals and avoiding the medical model or "disordered" language. Our team is dedicated to continuous learning in this space. We also embrace gender inclusivity, respecting everyone's right to choose their pronouns and striving for accurate, respectful language in all interactions.
Our approach to sleep is culturally sensitive, acknowledging and respecting diverse practices with an open heart. Finally, we acknowledge the ancient wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their enduring connection to family, land, and culture, recognizing that sovereignty was never ceded on this land.
